Snuggies

So, this past Christmas I heard that one of the hot ticket items was a snuggie. I don't really understand snuggies I guess. I mean I know it's meant to make it easier when having a blanket on, because it's a blanket with arms pretty much. But it looks really weird. And couldn't you get the same effect if you just put your house coat on backwards? I think so. Also, won't your hands get cold? I realize it makes it easier if you're eating or need to pick up the phone or something, but still I feel like your fingers will be cold. I don't know what all the hype is behind it, but I just really dislike snuggies.
