Psycho
I finally saw the original Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock today. It was not really what I expected, but still a fabulous film. It really set the standard for horror movies and although I am not a huge fan of horror films, I thought this movie was really good. I was surprised that it kind of had 2 plots. In the beginning of the movie you think the movie is going to be about the $40,000 that Marion Crane stole, but then it switches into being much more about Norman Bates and the murders he's committed. What I thought was really interesting too was that you never really hate Norman Bates. I mean you should because he's been killing girls for really no reason, he's killed his mother and stepfather, and houses his mother's corpse in his house still. But I honestly felt no hatred or ill feelings towards him throughout the movie. If anything I felt kind of bad for him because he seemed so lonely and just quiet and shy. I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who felt that way, but that's the feelings I got through the film.
